What is learning

We all sat together and tried to figure out what learning really meant. We thought that learning meant taking in new knowledge, mixing it with what you know, thinking about this to create new knowledge, questions, new learning, new ideas, new opinions, discussions and understanding.

Term 2 reflection

This term my class has been learning about plants. The female part and the male part. We learnt that on every flower there is an ovary. The ovary contains ovules which means eggs. 

This term my main goals were to become a better typer and to get better at group work. Most weeks in the term I typed on the computer. One week I typed on a proper typing link. I have tried to get better with my group work I have not seen much improvement but I think my teacher might have seen a bit of improvement.

I want to learn about Endangered Animals all over the world.

Overall I am felling okay about school lately I just want to do more maths.

Drug Awareness week

This week was Drug Awareness week. This week we  learnt about safety with medicines. We have also learnt about the recovery position and how to put someone in it. These are the tips that can help you about medicine. Keep medicine in a cool place at all times and never share the medicine that is only meant for you.

The visit to the Palmetum

Yesterday my class and I went to the Palmetum. It was really fun. The year four classes went to  the Palmetum to learn about all the different plants and environments. We were each given a clip board with quite a few sheets on them. We were going to have to answer as many questions as we could and draw pictures that show our thinking. I learnt that the leaves on the bottom of the rainforest floor are bigger than the ones up in the canopy. The leaves on the bottom of the rainforest floor are bigger, so they can catch any little rays of sunlight. The leaves up at the top of the canopy don't need leaves so big, because it's easy for them to catch enough sunlight.

Bean seed

Today I planted two bean seeds.

The end of term 1 2009

In my class, in the late part of term 1, since it is coming up to easter, we made easter baskets. The baskets had a bunny, a big egg, a basket of chocolates and a chick in the shell on it. This activity was fun. We have also made paper easter eggs with pretty colours and sparkles. Next term I would like to play more times table games. I and my class members have been learning how to speak Indonesian. We have learnt nearly all the numbers that there are to learn 1 is satu 2 is dua 3 is tiga and 4 is empat some bigger numbers are 45 and it is spelt like this empat puluh lima. By the way lima means 5 and puluh means ten. Next term I would like to learn about ANIMALS and I need to improve my editing skills and include punctuation in my writing.
